  • Liesbet's blog The Cruising Life: Special Occasions

    On the water, the years go by in the same way they do on land. The pace might be a bit different and the seasons are less prominent, but New Year comes and goes and so do birthdays and other events. Although they basically are days like any other day, we cruisers attempt to make them stand out just a bit. On New Year’s Eve we try to stay up until midnight (only successful when we have friends around and we “stick it out” together), over Christmas we eat even better and more than normally (see a previous XWaters blog) and birthdays are celebrated with gifts and a special dinner.
