OK, so Greece has natural hazards, we've known that for quite a while. We've heard the horror stories of equipment having to be dragged to into the bay to prevent it from melting, we've seen burned trees along the road. Wildfires, yep yep.
Well, today brought a completely new perspective on things, when I opened my window and realized that something stinks. And not only does it stink, but the mountain outside our bedroom window looks like this.
Adding to the list of force majeure we've encountered on Lefkada over the years (strike, civil unrest and earthquake notwithstanding), here comes our first-hand experience of a mountain wildfire.
