  • Trade Shows Kicking off the the summer season – The La Grande Motte Multihull Show

    Well, boys and girls, it has been a long and cold winter here in Europe, and after lots of preparation work, TheFish and crew finally went to explore warmer waters last weekend. After attending a couple of boat shows during the trade fair season, we figured the International Multihull Show, which took place in La Grande Motte on the French Med coast for the first time this year, was a very worthwhile detour on our road trip to Greece for the season.

     

    La Grande Motte is nice as it is, but 60 masts and 120+ hulls sure make for a spectacular view!

     

    Relax, you’re at a boat show!

    While every surf or boat show is a good opportunity to have a look at what’s new on the market, and meet interesting people, it often can become a hectic mess of meetings, presentations and stand visits. Also, with shows the size of Boot Duesseldorf, you are constantly struggling to balance out the feeling of overwhelming yourself with information, and not seeing all there is to see. La Grande Motte was nothing like that. The otherwise sleepy-looking seaside resort, surrounded by pine forests and a unique ecosystem of salt marshes and lakes, provided a great backdrop for the event, which, in addition to the regular industry stands, occupied three piers of the local marina with over 60 vessels on show – all afloat.
