General Information
Level:0-10 Season:May 1 — October 1 -
This is a good spot with decent waves, but while it is suitable for all experience levels you don’t tend to find many beginners out here. There is no real reason for this as the spot doesn’t offer any particular challenges that would put beginners off.
-
Beach
-
Clean sandy beach, all public access so there are no issues with getting on it. It is right in the city of Avalon – just make your way down to 15th street from wherever you happen to be and walk down to the end of it. If you have to drive here, there are plenty of parking spaces around unless it’s a busy holiday.

Wind&Waves
-
The swell at this pot starts working at about 1m, maybe a little more, and holds up to 2.5m or 3m on a good day. You need to get on it at either mid or high tide for the best waves, although it does work when the tide is rising or falling. It is a standard beach break, both right and left, and the waves are just average in terms of power. The length of the wave doesn’t vary much, reaching between 100m and 150m pretty much regardless of the conditions. During the week there aren’t many surfers out, but a holiday weekend will see it get extremely crowded.

Facilities
-
Avalon has of the most expensive real estate in New Jersey, so the place isn’t a cheap one to visit or stay in. Having said that, it is classy and has plenty of choice when it comes to places to stay and restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Safety
-
There are no dangers here, it is just spot to get out on and enjoy.
