General Information

Level:3-10 Season:November 1 — March 31

This island has been the home to native tribes, loyalists and pirates in the past, but is now better known for people who wish to scuba dive, sail, or just relax in very quiet surroundings.  Kiters and windsurfers both come out here and you should be intermediate level or better before making the trip.

Beach

The beach is small and sandy, though there is plenty of room on the dunes behind for anyone who wants to set up their rigging.  It's never crowded here and the temperature is of course warm enough that you'll only need shorts all year round unless it is a particularly cool day when a shorty might be required.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

November to March is the best time to come here, with the winds reaching over 30 knots on some days but more commonly blowing between 15 and 25 knots. The best directions are when it comes from the north-east, east, south-east or south-west. For the rest of the year the direction is the same but the winds are just lighter and in summer will come up until the afternoon. The water is typically flat or choppy, or of the wind is very strong you can see small waves that reach up to about 1 m high.

Facilities

There are no facilities on the beach although you can park on the dunes right behind it.  The island is pretty quiet and doesn't offer much nightlife, but then that isn't why people come here in the first place.

Safety

There are trees next to the beach, and once you are on the water you should know that according to the locals there are also frequent shark sightings.
