General Information
Level:0-10 Season:May 1 — September 30 -
A suitable spot for all surfers, this is known to have a laid back atmosphere and the break has a good, regular frequency.
-
Beach
-
A typical sandy beach is at this spot. Getting here is easy – drive down Ventnor Avenue, heading towards Longport. Keep an eye out for the 36th Street sign and when you see it, turn down towards the beach. It is the first beach you come to in Longport.
-
Wind&Waves
-
Wind direction is irrelevant here, but the swell needs to be from the north, northwest or west for the waves to work. It starts building at less than 1m, and will hold up to 2.5m or so. You can catch it at all tide positions, either rising or falling, but you are better trying to get out in the early morning as this is when the waves are cleanest and glassiest. A sandbar break, right and left, it is a pretty ordinary that although it can be fun doesn’t really have any power in it. A typical day will give a short length of up to 50m, while a good day might give a length up to 125m or so. This spot is empty during the week, and crowded at weekends.

Facilities
-
Longport is a fairly typical New Jersey town, with an old style feel to it. It has a reasonable choice when it comes to places to stay ad eat, though it has never really got as popular as some other towns when t comes to visitors.
-
Safety
-
Mind the rocks, and be careful of the currents that can easily push the unwary into the jetty.
