- This exposed ocean spot is found down by the south east corner of the island, and it provides a variety of conditions for intermediate and above kiters and windsurfers. It’s a gorgeous spot, well worth a trip.
- This is an odd little location, as it’s found at the end of a small island which is connect to the mainland by a highway and has an airport between it and the mainland. It is exposed to the ocean because of this, and should only be used by kitesurfers and windsurfers who are rated intermediate and better.
- Strictly a place for experts, this exposed stretch of coastline is prone to catching some big swells and strong winds. As a result it is a popular spot for kitesurfing, surfing, and windsurfing.
- This west coast beach is a great place for watersports but although the water is flat the offshore winds mean that a degree of experience is required to be able to kite surf or windsurf here safely.
- Zapponeta is located on the south eastern coast of Italy, just on the heel, if you look at the boot shape of the country. It is popular with surfers of all types who have at least intermediate experience since there are several wind breaks situated along the length of the beach which can be hazardous.. The best time to surf is between the months of April to Sepember, when the thermal winds kick in.
- Voltri is located on Italy's south west coast and is the last industrial suburb of Genoa although it lays claim to a very attractive park and pilgrimage church of the Madonna delle Grazie. The beach here is sandy and a good size and is a suitable spot for surfers of all types who have at least intermediate experience since there are several rocks in the water and around the shoreline. The season runs from April to November although the summer months may be best avoided as it is way too crowded then.
- Located within the Lazio region of Italy, conveniently situated close to Fiumicino airport and only a stone's throw from Rome lies the beach at Fregene and the spot that is called Villaggio dei Pescatori. It's a popular spot for surfers of all types and abilities with the best surfing to be had during April to September.
- Nestling in the north of Tuscany on Italy's west coast, lies the beach at Viareggio which is well known for its Carnevale di Viatreggio which takes place every year after lent, between January and February and not only has a huge parade of carts but also has lots of other events linked to it, and lasts for a period of 30 days. The beach itself is popular with surfers of all types and abilities with a season running from April to November.

Ventimiglia in ItalyVentimiglia is located in northern Italy just 130 km south west of Genoa by rail and 7 km from the French-Italian border, on the Gulf of Genoa and has a small harbor at the mouth of the Roia River which actually divides the town into two halves. It's beach attracts both surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers although it is not suited to beginners because there are a few potential hazards here. The season runs from April to November although off season is possible.

Cannitello in ItalySituated on the southern tip of Italy in the region of Reggio Calabria lies the beach at Cannitello. It is a popular spot with wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. The beach does get crowded with tourists particularly during June, July and August and as a result there may well be surfing restrictions/Zones in place. Having said that, the best times to surf here are from April through to September when the thermal winds kick in.
- Situated on the central western coast of Italy around 18 kms north of the capital Rome, lies the spot at Campo Di Mare. It is a very popular spot for wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. It does get very busy with tourists during the busy summer months and as a result, the local authorities have banned kite surfing between the dates of 1st May and 30th September. This is due to the fact that a couple of years ago, two kiters were Killed in a freak accident involving a very strong gust of wind. The best times to surf here are from October through to April when the beach is much quieter.
- This spot is on an island known as Little Bonaire, off the central western portion of the main island. It is a good spot for both kite surfing and windsurfing, and it is suitable for all abilities from beginners upwards as conditions are consistent and easy to handle.
- Bonaire is one of the bigger islands in this group, and it is ideally placed to catch some excellent winds all year round. This fantastically named spot is on the south-eastern portion of the island, and requires kitesurfers to be expert level before they can go out here safely.
- On a fairly exposed part of the northeast coast, this place isn’t really suited to beginners but kiters and windsurfers who have a bit of experience will find plenty to occupy them.
- A gorgeous spot on the northern coast of Jamaica, kite surfers and windsurfers of all abilities are welcome here.
- Almost at the easternmost point of the island, and facing into the Caribbean Sea, this spot offers a bit more of a challenge than some of the others on the and because of this it is suitable only for intermediate and better windsurfers and kitesurfers. Catamarans could also find this to be a decent area.

Saline in GuadeloupeAlmost halfway between Sainte-Anne and Le Gosier, this is a fairly popular place for both kite surfers and windsurfers of all ability levels.
- As you might guess from the name, this is mainly a kite surfing beach but you will also find windsurfers out here too. It is suitable for all ability levels, even outright beginners, and is conveniently located just a couple of hundred metres from the town.
- This is a spot for surfers, kiters and windsurfers who have a bit of experience as conditions aren’t the easiest around. Stormy days will produce the biggest swells, but even at other times its quite consistent and a fun place to be out.
- Suitable for all abilities of kiter and windersurfer, this tiny island is a popular destination. It’s well off shore so getting here requires transport by fishing boat, but that’s cheap and easy to arrange from the village of Morne Rouge.

Goyave in GuadeloupeThis sheltered spot, where the waves are pretty much kept away by the nearby Grande Terre area, offers a decent day of windsurfing or kitesurfing for everybody from beginners upwards.
- A popular resort, Coral Cove is often used by windsurfers and kitesurfers and there’s no reason a catamaran can’t be sailed out here, either. On the east side of the Lance aux Epines peninsula, it catches the wind quite well and it’s also conveniently accessed, being quite close to the airport.

The beach gets very busy during the summer when there are many tourists. Because of this, there may well be surfing zones, restrictions in place. Having said that, the best times to surf are between the months of May through to September when the thermal winds kick in.
- Situated on the south eastern coast of Italy, just on the heel, if you look at the boot shape of the country, in the historic Apulia region lies the beach at Barletta. Barletta is famous for its grand cathedral, but also has a nice beach. It is a great spot for kite surfers, wind surfers and surfers of all levels and abilities. The best times of the year to surf here are between the months of April and September when the thermal winds kick in. During the summer be aware that zones are set up.
- Situated in the province of Trieste on Italy's north eastern coast, just a stone's throw away from the border with Slovenia lies the beach at Barcola. It is a great spot for kite surfers and wind surfers of all levels and abilities. Surfing is permitted all year round here, but you may need to keep an eye out for the tourists as the beach does get a little crowded, particularly during June, July and August. The best times to surf here are between April and September when the thermal winds kick in.
- Situated in a gorgeous natural port the beach of Baratti lies on Italy's north western coast within the province of Tuscany. It is a very popular spot with kite surfers and wind surfers of all levels and abilities. There is also some sailing here. Due to it's popularity it gets jam packed with tourists, particularly during the summer months, and because of this, there may well be heavy surfing restrictions in place. In fact it is advisable not to surf during the summer. The best times to surf are from September through to April when it is a little more quiet.
