General Information
Level:5-10 Season:May 1 — September 30 -
Located close to the college whose students tend to monopolise this spot, it is suitable for experienced surfers who are able to hold their own in a crowded line up. It breaks frequently and has decent waves, and if you can find space here it's a fun day out.
-
Beach
-
The beach is public access and located right behind the dormitory buildings of Nazarene College. It is crowded here at the best of times, and during the holiday season or at weekends you'll barely be able to move.
-
Wind&Waves
-
Conditions are best here when the wind is blowing from the south-east or the east and the swell is coming in from the north-west or the west. You need to catch this spot at the low or mid tide position and on a rising tide, and when you do it will start working at about 1.5 m and hold up to just over 2 m. It's a fun reef break with a few take off points, breaks only to the left, and the waves are about average. Length is pretty short at around 50 m unless you catch it on a good day when over 100 m is possible.
-
Facilities
-
Unless you know somebody at the college, you won't be able to park close by and instead will have to head down the road and walk in, but it should still only be 5 minutes or so away. There are no facilities on the beach, but the town of Sunset Cliffs to the north will be able to supply anything you need.

Safety
-
Be careful of the rocks and the currents that you'll find in the area, and keep a wary eye on some of the locals.
