General Information

Level:1-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

Acharavi is situated on the northern coast of the island of Corfu. It is a fairly lively resort that has everything you need, as well as a watersports center. It is a great spot for wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities but it does get crowded during the busy summer season, therefore there may well be surfing restrictions/zones in place during this time. It is also possible to hire small boats here so it is a good spot for the would-be sailor too.

Beach

Sand Gradual descent

The beach itself is a sandy beach that is backed by grassy areas that stretches for around 3kms, so its pretty long. Parking here is slightly limited, and to get here you will need to follow the coast road out of Kassiopi, heading northwards. Go past the Hydropolis water park and Acharavi is the next town immediately after the park.. Turn down any of the streets heading towards the beach.

Wind&Waves

Wave spot Regular wind

The predominant wind direction here is south east or variations thereof and this is the direction which works best here. During the summer the winds are mainly thermal . The winds can get a little gusty in the winter when the wind swings round to the north and gusts can reach 30 knots. The water quality is clean and the conditions are small waves most of the time however when the wind direction is right the odd larger wave of up to 3 meters is possible. Regarding the sea temperature, up until October you can be wetsuit free, but after that it is advisable to wear one.

Facilities

Parking WC Shower

This town has a lively resort feel and as a result, everything is in place. At the beach you will find showers, and the bars will let you use their toilets provided you buy a drink. The town itself has a good selection of bars and restaurants and nightlife here is pretty good too.

Safety

With its shallow waters and its long beach this is definitely a place for beginners and novices to practice. However, keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months.
