General Information

Level:0-10 Season:October 1 — April 30

Known locally as Hendry's, this secluded beach is surrounded by towering cliffs and is a fairly spectacular location.  It is suitable for everybody and breaks quite regularly

Beach

This is a state managed beach, consisting of sand with the odd bit of driftwood or debris washed up on it. It's a popular place for locals to visit, especially those walking dogs, and it tends to be crowded almost all the time, even during the week.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The wind needs to be coming from the north-east or the north and the swell from the north-west, west or south-west for the best surf here. It works at all tide positions and on both rising and falling tides, and will start at just less than 1 m and hold up to just over 2 m. It is a beach break, both right and left, and is a pretty average wave which doesn't have a great deal of speed or power.  Most days you won't see the length get beyond 50 m, but the occasional good day can see it get between 100 to 150 m.

Facilities

There are lifeguards on the beach, and there are showers for use by surfers and other visitors. There is also a restaurant and snack bar, and there is plenty of parking in an area just behind the beach.

Safety

The water isn't the cleanest around, so keep your mouth closed when you fall in.  A lot of locals also hang out here, and the odd one has an attitude but you'll find their bark is worse than their bite.
