Located just 20 minutes away from the busy port of Adamantas on the Greek Island of Milos is the beach of Axivadolimni which is popular with surfers of all levels and abilities. The gulf of Milos has two coastlines, the Papikinos and the Axivadolimni and lots of beaches which means there is a beach for every wind direction on this island.

The beach is large and sandy and hazard free with plenty of room to safely launch and land a kite. The beach here is not as busy as some of the other beaches on the island although the summer months can get crowded. You can get here by plane into Milos airport or there is a ferry from Athens which brings you into Adamantas which is just 20 minutes drive by bus or car toAxivadolimni.

The winds are frontal winds which come from either north, north northeast or north east directions. The spot works best in north winds and the best months for surfing here are July to September. The water is crystal clear and there are normally small to medium waves. The climate is good, especially during the summer when the water temperature is around 24 degrees and the air temperature around 30 degrees. Come the winter months and you will need to suit up accordingly.

Facilities

Parking WC Shower Camping

There is plenty of parking here plus camping. The beach has shower and toilet facilities too. There are several small fish bars on the beach all serving locally caught fish. For supplies and accommodation you may need to head back to Adamantas where the night life is pretty good too.

Safety

This is a pretty safe spot so just oberserve the normal safety precautions and if you come here in the summer months, then watch out for swimmers.
