General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
This is a nice little spot that is suitable for all surfers, including beginners. Unlike its more famous and more challenging big sister Makapuu, this is in a sheltered cove which means the waves are much easier to handle.
-
Beach
-
The beach is sandy with occasional rock, and larger clumps of rock at each end of the cove. You'll usually see a couple of other surfers out on weekdays, and at weekends it can get crowded although it is still worth making the trip then.
-
Wind&Waves
-
Both the wind and the swell a good when coming from the north-east, with the wind pushing the swell before it. The waves start working at less than 1 m, and hold up to about two or 2.5 m. The spot is independent of tide position and works on both rising and falling tide, and you are most likely to get the best conditions from November to February. It is a reef break only to the right and the waves are fairly lacklustre, offering nothing special but they are still fun to be on. Length isn't too bad, on a normal day approaching 150 m, and on a good day getting between 200 m and 300 m.

Facilities
-
Parking is available just off the main highway, and right by the beach. There are also restrooms within about a 5 min walk of here
-
Safety
-
There are small clumps of rock at each end of the cove just about at the shoreline, but they are unlikely to cause a problem for anybody once you know where they are.
