Barceloneta is located right in the centre of Barcelona, northern Spain and is directly in front of the harbor. It is well known for its sandy beach and gained the status of best urban beach in the world and third best beach in the world, according to a documentary film on the Discovery Channel back in 2005. It is a popular spot for sailing and windsurfing and kitesurfing, for intermediate to expert level abilities. Kitesurfing is not allowed here during the summer months. The season is pretty much all year round.

Beach
-
The beach is about 1.3 km long with beautiful sand and there is ample room for the majority of the year. However, the beach gets very crowded with holiday makers during June, July and August and kitesurfing is not allowed at this time. You can easily find the beach which is located directly in front of Barcelona harbor.

Wind&Waves
-
The winds are predominantly easterlies with NNE and SSW being sideshore. The wind is fairly constant here and blows around 4 knots on average. The best winds are to be had in Sepember and February. The water is clean and can be flat to choppy. With easterly winds you get small waves of under 1 meter although the water tends to be very flat behind the wave breaker . You need to look out for the moles which are north and south. Surfing is possible all year round with a thick wetsuit,
