General Information
Level:5-10 Season:October 1 — April 1 -
Burriana lies on a glorious stretch of coastline situated on Spain's west coast. It is a popular spot with sailors, surfers, kite surfers and wind surfers of intermediate and expert abilities. Beginners are not advised to practice here because of the numerous wave breakers scattered all along the length of the beach. Burriana gets fairly packed with tourists and beach goers in the summer so there may well be time and zone restrictions in place. It is advisable to check before you set off. There is no particular season here but Avoid the crowds and go from October through to April.

Beach
-
There is a long white sandy beach of around 1 km in length that stretches to the left of the harbor. To find it you simply drive southwards from Castellon towards Burriana, when you get here you will see the signs for the beach where you can park.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The wind here is predominantly west northwesterly, however you can also pick up south south westerly and north north easterly sideshore breezes depending upon the time of year. The wind speed hovers at around 6 knots but can get a little gustier during the winter. The water quality is crystal clear and is flat to choppy. When the wind is strong enough and in the right direction, it is possible to catch small waves of around 1 meter in height. The water temperature falls between 16-26 degrees depending upon the time of year. So a normal wetsuit will suffice in the winter and a shorty or shorts is good for the rest of the year.

Facilities
-
Burriana is a touristy kind of place and therefore the facilities are pretty good, there are eating places and ample parking along the beach front. If you need shops, accommodation etc, then you will need to head into Castellon. For some serious nightlife you might want to head into Valencia.

Safety
-
Keep a close eye out for the wave breakers and groynes dotted along the shoreline. Also watch out for swimmers and bathers during the busy summer season.
