Situated on the western coast of Italy in the region of Lazio lies the beach at Carrubo. It is a popular spot with wind surfers, kite surfers and sailors of intermediate and expert abilities Beginners are not advised to practice here because of the passing ships and boats that sail in and out of the harbour. The beach gets very busy with tourists during the months of June, July and August so there may well be surfing restrictions in place during this time. Having said his the best times to surf here are between the months of May and September when the thermal winds kick in.

The beach here is of medium size and is located to the west of the harbour at San Felice Circeo. It is one of the busiest beaches in the area during the holiday season. To get here you will need to drive to the west of the harbour where you are able to park.

The main wind direction onto the beach is north northwest and this direction works really well here. The water quality is clean and conditions are flat to choppy pretty much all of the time. The water temperature remains somewhere between 14-26 degrees depending upon the time of year so you may need to suit up accordingly.

Parking

There is ample parking at the beach and there are also a good selection of eateries nearby. A short walk into the town of San Felice Circeo will reveal a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and accommodation. The nightlife is fairly good here too.

Be mindful of the boats and ships passing in and out of the harbour and check around for

swimmers and bathers in your immediate vicinity.
