Situated on the sheltered eastern coast of Corfu lies the bay at Daphnila. It is a popular spot for wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. The beach here does get a little crowded during the busy summers season and as a result there may well be surfing zones/restrictions in place during these times. The best times are from October through to April.

The beach itself sits in a bay and is small to medium in size. It is made up of soft white sand and is hazard free. To find it you will need to drive north out of Corfu town heading towards Ipsos, when you get here simply follow the sings for Daphnila bay and the beach, where you are able to park.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot Regular wind

The predominant wind direction is from a south easterly direction or variations thereof and this direction works really well here. The summer thermals give you some pretty good surfing, whilst the wind speed stays at around 3-8 knots most of the time. The water quality is clean and conditions are flat to choppy with small waves appearing (around 1 meter) when the wind direction is right and is strong enough. The water temperature remains around 12-26 degrees depending upon the time of year, however in the winter you will probably need a long suit.

Facilities

Parking

There is a restaurant on the beach that cooks some of the best sardines in the summer. If you want to experience nightlife, shops bars etc, then take the short drive back into the lively resort of Ipsos.(approx 9kms)

Safety

There is not too much to worry about here. Just keep an eye out for boats entering the small bay. Also be on the lookout for swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months.
