General Information
Level:4-10 Season:May 1 — September 30 -
This spot, for experienced surfers, is at a rivermouth and while it doesn’t offer particularly big waves they are long.
-
Beach
-
The beach is a mixture of sand and flat stone, more like cobbles than anything else, and it’s relatively small. It is a quiet spot on weekdays and busy on summer weekends, and you’ll need to wear the right thickness suit when you come – summer air temperatures rarely exceed 20c, while winter can be just below zero.
-
Wind&Waves
-
There are a few directions that the wind can be classed as good, and these are when it is from the southwest, south or southeast. The swell works best in direction opposition to the wind, usually coming from the northwest or west and on low or mid tide, either rising or falling. It starts working at less than 1m and will hold up to about 2m, maybe 3m if you are lucky, breaking to the left by the rivermouth. It might only be small, but it is fast and ledgey and the length is good for the area, being up to 150m on a normal day and towards 300m on a good day.

Facilities
-
There are no facilities here. You can park on Dike Road and then follow the trail to the beach. Be aware that this is reservation land and technically access is prohibited, but as long as you show respect and don’t hang around before you cross the river you’ll be fine.
-
Safety
-
Unusually for the area, there can be a few possessive locals around here who don’t like loud visitors. That’s all there is to deal with though, so don’t do stupid things like dropping in on them and you’ll be fine.
