Falshoft is located on the north coast of Germany, near to the border of Denmark, looking out to the Baltic Sea. It is not that well known amongst surfers, but does offer some good conditions for surfers of all types and abilities. The seasons runs from April to November although off season is possible if you are fully booted and suited.

Beach

There is a large sandy beach with plenty of space for rigging and launching and there is very rarely anyone around. You can get here on the B199 by driving eastwards from Flensburg. Follow the signs to Falshoft and park near to the lighthouse.

Wind&Waves

The winds are predominantly frontal westerlies with depressions and are at their best from fall to spring. The summer winds tend to be lighter, although occasionally you can pick up a nice north east or east.. The spot works best in north, north east and east. The water is clear with small waves which get stronger as the wind increases, sometimes reaching as high as 3 meters. The winds average around 14 knots throughout the year. The water temperature is normally around 15 degrees, rising to 22 in the summer and the air temperature averages around 18 degrees, sometimes rising as high as 30 degrees in the summer. The winter months are very cold but ridable if you are dressed appropriately.

Facilities

There is very little here apart from the lighthouse. For shops, restaurants, bars and other amenities you are best to head for Flensburg where there is also some nightlife to be found.

Safety

The area is pretty safe and there are no restricted areas. Just keep well away from rocks near the lighthouse.
