General Information
Level:4-10 Season:September 1 — May 1 -
This is a spot for experienced surfers only, and although it isn’t the best in the area it can still be a fun spot. Surfing is restricted to certain times in summer.
-
Beach
-
As usual for this part of the coast, the beach is sandy, wide and long. It is found between Bethany and Ocean City, you can’t miss it. Parking is along the streets and in the town center, but it can be hard to find somewhere in summer.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The wind here works best when coming from the northwest, west or southwest while the swell can work in any direction except west. The waves start working at less than 1m and can hold up to over 2.5 when conditions are right, and you should aim to get it on a rising tide for the full effect. It is a standard beach break, both right and left, but the waves are hollow as well as being deceptively fast and powerful. Beginners should stay clear for this reason. Ride length is typically short at 50m maximum, but can reach 150m on good days. The spot doesn’t have many surfers during the week, but can be crowded especially in summer.

Facilities
-
Fenwick is known as a quiet town, but that isn’t to say it doesn’t have much to offer. There are plenty of hotels and motels right on the beachfront, a water park and several restaurants.
-
Safety
-
There are some undertows here that need to be given respect. The waves themselves are also quicker and more powerful than they first look.
