General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Another spot close to a military installation, this is suitable for all surfers and it is possible to get out here without a military pass.
-
Beach
-
The beach is made up of golden sand, just the same as the rest of the area. Drive along Atlantic Avenue from Virginia Beach, following the signs for Fort Story. You’re looking for a jetty that is made up of a number of artificially placed rocks that stick out from the beach.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The swell needs to be from the south east and the wind should be offshore for this spot to work well. The swell starts building at less than 1m, and will hold up to 2m or 3m on a good day. It works on both rising and falling tides, and really comes together right after a hurricane when the big swells are rolling through the area. The break is a sand bar, both right and left, and is one of the faster ones in the area. The power is nothing spectacular, just enough to be interesting. A normal day will give a ride length between 50m and 150m, and a good day will give over 200m. The spot rarely has more than a handful of surfers out.

Facilities
-
There are no facilities here, but Virginia Beach is just to the south and has plenty of variety. There are hundreds of hotels, motels and restaurant, and plenty of things to do while waiting for the surf.
-
Safety
-
Be careful of the rips and undertows that are in this area.
