General Information

Level:0-10 Season:November 1 — February 28

Down towards the south end of the island and on the ocean facing side is this nice little spot. It isn't particularly challenging and beginners especially will find it an easy place to learn the basics, although kite surfers and windsurfers with a bit more experience will still have a good day.

Beach

The beach is pretty typical for the Bahamas, it is all white sand and sits within a fairly long bay so there is plenty of room to manoeuvre a kite or set up rigging.  Crowds are unheard-of and the chances are that there won't be anybody else out here. Temperatures are good all year round, with a maximum of about 30° C in summer and a low of about 25° C in winter, so most people just pack shorts and forget the wetsuit.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The wind is best and is at its most consistent during winter, especially in November and December.  You get around 15 to 20 knots at this time, with the rest of the year offering lighter and somewhat less consistent winds although it is still worth a look if you find yourself in the area then. The water is a pretty big area, began with plenty of room to do what you like. It is shallow for quite a way out and the surface is either flat or choppy depending on the wind strength and direction.

Facilities

There are no facilities on the beach, but the island itself has a few hotels, holiday rentals, and some restaurants and bars. The golf cart is the usual mode of transport on here.

Safety

There is nothing to worry about at all here, even your granny would feel safe in this location.
