Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The spot attracts frontal westerly winds with depressions. Occasionally you can get a nice North east or East wind in the summer, but it doesn't happen too often. The best winds are to be had from fall to spring. The water is shallow for about 50 meters and varies between flat or choppy depending on wind direction. Nearby Wamper Wiek has a larger shallow area and if the wind is right you can get a good ride to the peninsula Drigge. Be careful because there are a few stones in the water. The summers are nice and warm here and the water temperature rises to around 22o C dropping to about 15o C during fall and spring. Outside air temperature is also very pleasant in the summer with highs of up to 30o C dropping down to about 15o C in fall and spring.

Facilities

There is nothing here at all. You're best to head back to Stralsund for a good choice of bars and restaurants. Accommodation is plentiful, if you're looking to make a weekend of it, and the nightlife is good.

Safety

Be aware of stones in the water
