General Information
Level:10-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
This is a great spot for surfers of all abilities with almost an all year round season, although the beach does get very crowded during the summer months so probably best to completely ignore the months of July and August. Habernis is situated on the Flinsburg Fjord and the Geltinger Bay with a magnificent view of the coast of Denmark.
-
Beach
-
This is a medium sized sandy bay which attracts a lot of visitors during the summer due to the lovely warm weather that normally prevails with temperatures anywhere between 20oC – 30 oC. To get to the beach drive towards Neukirchen and then Habernis is signposted from there.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The frontal winds blow in from westerly directions and are generally considered to be best from October to April. Just occasionally you may be lucky enough to pick up some nice north east and easterly winds, but this doesn't happen too often. The area is at it's best with a north west, north east or easterly wind. The water is quite clean, shallow in places and can vary from flat to choppy depending on the tide. The water temperature is normally around 150oC but can reach as high as 22oC in the summer, making it extremely pleasant.
-
Facilities
-
There is a campsite nearby which is open from April to October and has showers and toilets and a general store but there is little else in the immediate area.
-
Safety
-
Be aware of others on the beach as many of them will not be surfers
