General Information
Level:0-10 Season:October 1 — April 30 -
This place is really a beginners wave, but occasionally it can get good and suit those with more experience too. Surfing here is a fairly solitary experience, so if you like to avoid the crowds at the more popular beaches than this might be worth a look.
-
Beach
-
The beach is sandy and a decent size, but isn't very clean. Probably for this reason it is a quiet spot, and you'll rarely see more than a couple of other surfers out here.
-
Wind&Waves
-
Conditions are best when the wind is coming from the south-east, east or north-east and the swell is coming up from the north-west, west or south-west. Working on both rising and falling tides, the water should be at the mid or high tide position and then the swell will start working at 1 m or so and reach a maximum of about 3 m on a good day, though it's usually much less than that. It is a beach break, both right and left, and the waves are pretty ordinary and even a bit sloppy most of the time. Length will usually struggle to get much to more than about 50 m, but on a good day if you are lucky you can see 150 m.

Facilities
-
This beach is just outside the city, and doesn't have any facilities of its own. You can drive quite close to the shore though – head towards the Bacara Hotel and take one of the beach roads before you get there. Goleta has plenty of facilities and is just a short drive away.
-
Safety
-
The water and the beach and very clean, so watch out for that. You may also get the odd local dropping in on you.
