Situated in the Dalyan region of south east Turkey lies the beach at Iztuzu. It is a popular spot for kite surfers of all levels and abilities. The main season is from April through to October, however, this beach is a very popular nesting site for rare Loggerhead Turtles and as a result, is out of bounds at particular times of the year. Therefore you may want to check this out with local authorities before you set off.

Beach

Sand Gradual descent

Iztuzu has a very large wide beach with lots of space. To get here you will need to head towards Marmaris, then follow the signs for Bogazagzi and then Iztuzu.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot Regular wind

The main wind direction is north westerly and this direction also works really well here. When the thermals kick in the breezes can be pretty consistent and start at around noon. During the winter months the winds are much less frequent, but when they are, they can be very gusty and changeable. The water quality is clean and conditions are choppy with small waves most of the time. The water temperature falls somewhere between 14-26 degrees depending upon the time of the year so you may want to suit up or down accordingly.

Facilities

Parking

There is some parking here but the beach is fairly remote. Bogazagzi is a 10 minute drive and this has a handful of shops, bars, restaurants and accommodation. If you like your action a little busier, then head towards the city of Dalyan itself. At only 13 kms, it is easily reachable.

Safety

Iztuzu is a lovely spot and is very safe. Just be mindful of the conservation zones for the turtles. Also keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months.
