General Information

Level:4-10 Season:October 1 — June 1

Kite surfers need to be experts to be out here safely, and windsurfers should be intermediate or better.  The place is on a lagoon that is formed as the land folds back on itself, and it requires some good technical ability to get the best out of the conditions.

Beach

The beach is white sand covered with bushes, but it really is so small that it hardly exists. You will be surprised to find that it is never crowded here, and the weather is excellent all year round as the temperatures only vary between about 25° C and 30° C.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The wind is best here when coming from the east or the south-east as any other direction makes it too gusty to be useful.  The speed is generally between 15 and 25 knots, except in the summer months when it will blow most days between 10 and 15 knots and not come up until the afternoons.  The water is shallow and is a big area which is usually flat, although it might be choppy on the odd day.

Facilities

Parking is at the side of the road and from there you practically fall into the water. There are no facilities here at all, and Georgetown, the capital of the island, is about 40 minutes drive to the north.

Safety

There are trees and bushes here, as well as power lines and the road is so close that you need to look out for traffic. If the tide is turning in the channel can also have strong currents, but there is a beach downwind where you can land if you get into trouble.
