General Information

Level:6-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

A world-class big wave, this is one of those who have genuine experience rather than just an abundance of confidence. If you aren't as good as you think you are, this place will find you out.

Beach

The beach at this point is where soft sand gives way to a rocky shoreline, so you're going to need to enter the water on the sandy part and then paddle across in front of the rocks.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

This place is at its best when the wind is blowing from the south-west or the south, and the swell is rolling in from the north or the north-west. It is independent of tide position, and works on both rising and falling tides, starting at about 2 m and holding up to an awesome 5 m or more. It is a point break, only to the left, and the waves are extremely powerful. The wave is long even on a normal day, reaching up to 300 m, and on a good day it can be well over 400 m.

Facilities

Parking is easy here, just pull off the road and park at the side of it when you see the rocks and the break.  There are no public facilities here though, and no nearby town, so you'll probably want to make this a day trip.

Safety

The currents are strong here, and I mean really strong - they can easily cause a problem if you aren't careful. The only other things to watch out for here, the rocks and the sharks, barely register in comparison.
