General Information
Level:0-10 Season:November 1 — May 31 -
Everybody and their dog seems to head here, as it’s a good spot for everything and is easy so even beginners can have a fun day out here. It has a good atmosphere and everybody just seems to get on with it, unlike many other popular mainland spots where it gets a bit territorial.
-
Beach
-
The beach is sandy and clean, and it’s a moderate size with no hazards except for the number of people on it. Wear shorts all year round, there’s no need for anything more as both the water and the air average temperatures in the mid-20’s.
-
Wind&Waves
-
This place provides usable wind all year round, but it is at it’s best with the southwest wind that is found from November to the end of May. The wind is pretty strong then too, consistently exceeding 25 knots and even then it isn’t particularly gusty. The water is choppy but often gets nice waves that surfers in particular will enjoy, especially when a west swell pushes the height up to as much as 3m. As you’d expect, the water is crystal clear and clean.
-
Facilities
-
This is one of the more popular watersports locations and as such it has most things you’d expect. There’s room to park close to the beach and lifeguards patrol the area, dragging out anyone who gets it wrong. Rooms are available, but no camping, and there are public showers and toilets. If you need food, this is also available on site.
-
Safety
-
The only thing you really need to watch out for are the swimmers who seem to get everywhere.
