Wind&Waves
-
The northwest Meltemi wind blows sideshore to side onshore. It starts around 12pm and stops when the sun goes down, achieving speeds of 4.5-6 bft on most days especially during the high season from June to August; the winds are less regular off-season. There are some nice small kicker waves, reaching heights between ½- 1 ½ m high (1 ½ -4 ½ ft). A wetsuit is required in winter and while none is necessary in summer when the water temperature can be as high as 24°C (75°F), lycra is necessary to protect your skin from the sun.
