General Information
Level:0-10 Season:April 1 — September 1 -
Situated on Spain's south western coastline not a million miles from the Portuguese border lies the beach at La Antilla. It is a popular spot with wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. This spot does get very busy with tourists and beach goers during the busy summer months so there may well be surfing restrictions in place. You might want to check this out before you set off. The best times to surf here are between April to September when the thermal winds blow.

-

Wind&Waves
-
The main wind directions are southwest, west southwest and westerly. During the summer, when the wind blows southwest it brings with it some nice thermal breezes. All these directions work well here. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are choppy most of the time, with small waves appearing when the wind is in the right direction. The water temperature remains at a fairly moderate 18-26 degrees depending upon the time of year, so you may want to suit up or suit down accordingly.
-
Facilities
-
There is plenty of parking here as well as accommodation and eating establishments, all within walking distance of the beach. The town itself also has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The nightlife isn't too bad either.
-
Safety
-
This is a pretty safe spot and a good place for beginners to practice. You will need to keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in the water during the busy summer season. Also be considerate towards other surfers.
