General Information

Level:6-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

Situated on the northern most tip of the gorgeous Greek Island of Kos just north of Kos Town lies the spot at Lambi. It is a popular spot for wind surfers of intermediate and expert abilities. Beginners are not advised to practice here because there are sharp reefs and stones just below the water line, so feet protection is needed. The best months for surfing are between July to August when the thermal winds kick in, although there may well be restrictions in place.

Beach

Sand Gradual descent

The beach is of medium length but where you choose to surf depends on whether it is narrow or wide. The widest spot is close to the Aelos Hotel where there is ample space to launch and land a kite. To get here you need to drive north out of Kos town until you see signs for the beach.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot Regular wind

The main wind direction here is northwest and this is also the best direction for surfing. Between the months of June to August the winds can get up to 4-6 bft daily. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are choppy with small waves. The water temperature hovers somewhere between 14-26 degrees depending upon the time of year so you may want to suit up in the winter.
