General Information

Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

You’ll find surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers all sharing the space here as the wind and the waves combine to give conditions that suit them all, though it’s by no means an easy spot to be out on when the waves are big and really you need to be pretty good to be out here at these times.  For the rest of the year, it’s easy enough for all experience levels to use.

Beach

The beach is sandy but small, though fortunately it’s a quiet spot and you don’t get bystanders or tourists cluttering the place up.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

You’ll have decent waves here from September to May, and good winds from May to October so it gives a good long season whichever sport you are into.  The winds are the usual trade winds,   blowing from the northeast most often and coming in fairly strong – they will regularly be over 25 knots, and will start coming up by 9 a.m. before blowing right through to early evening.  The water is clear and clean, and you’ll find either small waves up to 1m or bigger ones reaching 3m or more depending on the time of year you come out.

Facilities

Parking is available here, just off the state highway, and though there isn’t too much room it doesn’t usually get crowded.  As it’s not a mainstream beach though you won’t find any home comforts here.

Safety

The main thing here is to be aware of other users and keep proper distances from them.  Kiters and windsurfers must also be able to handle bigger waves.
