General Information

Level:3-10 Season:January 1 — August 31

Almost on the northernmost point of Aruba, this just catches the winds and currents that whip around the point and provides a good but challenging place to windsurf or kitesurf.

Beach

The beach is small and sandy with the odd rock thrown in for good measure.  It doesn’t really get crowded as most tourists head for the bigger beaches, and as it is in a tropical zone you can expect it to be hot and balmy – air temperatures will be over 30C all year round, and the warm water means a wetsuit isn’t required.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The best conditions here are found from January to August, when the wind will blow from the northeast and consistently give speeds over 20 knots.  September to December has lighter winds but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come out here anyway – they’ll still give a maximum of about 15 knots even then. The water is shallow all around and is almost always flat.

Facilities

Parking is available just off Arashi Road, and is a very short walk to the beach from there.

Safety

The winds can be gusty which makes them dangerous if you don’t have the skill to handle them, and the small beach and the rocks means that kitesurfers need to have good control to stay safe.
