Beach

Sand Gradual descent

The beach itself is of medium size and is approximately 200 metres wide so there is plenty of space for kiters to take off and land on the beach. It is hazard free with no obstacles.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot Regular wind

The main wind direction is northerly or variations thereof and this is also works the best at this spot. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are choppy pretty much all of the time. For the first 200 meters the water is very shallow and is even dry during the hot summer months so you may need to take this into consideration. The water temperature remains very pleasant even during the winter months which are mild (around 18-20 degrees) so you can get away with a shorty.

Facilities

Parking WC Shower

The facilities at Mangroovy beach are excellent. Here you have 3 different surf schools, a surf shop and rental equipment. There is a fully manned rescue centre plus shower and toilet facilities at the beach. The beach also has various eating places if you feel a little peckish. There is also ample parking and the town of El Gouda has plenty of accommodation. If you really want to le your hair down then take a drive back to the city of Hurghada.

Safety

This is a fairly safe spot however you will need to be mindful of the sharp coral in the water so you might need to wear something on your feet. Also keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in and around your surfing zone.
