General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Located about an hours drive south west of the city of A Coruna, on Spain's North Atlantic coast lies the beach at Molinos. It is a popular spot (although a little small) for wind surfers and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. It does get pretty crowded during the summer with tourists and beach goers. Because of this, there might well be surfing restrictions in place during this time. To avoid the crowds and possible restrictions, the best time to surf is probably between October and April.

Beach
-
The beach here is small (about 600 meters in length) and is made up of a mixture of sand and pebbles. There are rocky cliffs situated at either end of the beach. To get here you need to take the A55 westbound out of A Coruna towards Carballo, then pick up the A522 and follow the signs for Vimianzo, Os Muinos and eventually Molinos.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The predominant wind directions here are northerly and northeasterly. These are also the best directions for surfing. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are flat to choppy pretty much all of the time. The water temperature remains somewhere between 13-18 degrees depending upon the time of year so you might want to suit up accordingly.
-
Facilities
-
There is ample parking here at Molinos, but that is pretty much it. If you want shops, bars, restaurants and accommodation, then your nearest towns are Vimianzo and Os Muinos. If you want to let your hair down then head back into A Coruna.
-
Safety
-
There is not too much to worry about here, except to keep a look out for swimmers and bathers in the water during the summer months.
