General Information
Level:10-10 Season:April 1 — October 1 -
This is a great spot for windsurfers of all abilities offering a choice of sea surfing or flat water conditions on a large lagoon.
-
Beach
-
Nairn has two lovely long sandy beaches, with the largest being to the east of town and the smaller to the west of town. For the East Beach, travel west on the A96 and exit right, just before the Nairn bridge. Follow this road towards the entrance of the caravan park. You can drive straight through and park in the car park at the end. If you prefer the smaller West beach, then head towards the harbour and try to find a space in the small car park to the left, facing out to sea. There is a larger car park about 100 yards further down the road. As it's such a long stretch of similar looking coastline, it can be advisable to sail to the west (left of harbour) so you have a focal point when tuning back

Wind&Waves
-
The wind is mainly North through to North East, which provides some good small waves making ideal conditions for B&J although thermal winds can kick in during hot weather, which is a bit of a novelty. There are sand banks along the beach, so at low tide you have to wade out for quite a way.
-
Facilities
-
There is a small windshop located near the harbour, public toilets at the caravan car park and plenty of accomodation, pubs and shops in town
-
Safety
-
If using East beach, be aware of the water pipe running out to sea from the water works and if using West beach, then look out for harbour traffic.
