General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Situated on Spain's eastern coast between Gandia and Denia lies the Olivia Nova. This is a great spot for kite surfers, wind surfers and surfers alike of all levels and abilities. Olivia Nova is a very popular tourist destination so it does get busy during the summer with beach goers and bathers, therefore expect time restrictions during this period. Thee is a kite school here so you can learn in safety with qualified instructors. The best time to go is from June to September because there is an excellent thermal wind on sunny days.

Beach
-
The beach here is made up of fine soft white sand and is medium in size. There is plenty of room for starting and landing your kite. To get here you drive 1 hour south out of Valencia until you hit Gandia, the next village after that is Olivia Nova.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The main direction is south east and this is also the best direction to surf here. The winds are thermal and wind speed averages around 5-6 knots most of the year. The water is crystal clear and is choppy most of the time, however when the wind is in the right direction it is possible to catch waves of over 3 meters in height. The water temperature ranges somewhere between 16-26 degrees depending upon the time of year. So in winter a normal wetsuit will suffice.
-
Facilities
-
The facilities here are excellent. There is a campsite nearby that offers eating places, a small shop, shower and toilet facilities and of course accommodation. There is plenty of nightlife in Olivia Nova (only a 20 minute walk along the beach.)

Safety
-
There isn't too much to worry about at this spot, just keep an eye out for swimmers and bathers in the water during the summer months.
