General Information
Level:1-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Situated on the western side of the northern Greek province of Attica lies the spot at Palaio Faliro. At around 17 kms from the capital Athens, it is an easy spot to reach. Because of this it gets packed with tourists during the summer months so there may well be surfing restrictions in place during this time. It is a great spot for wind surfers and kite surfers to practice and the best months are from May to June and September to October when there are less tourists.

Beach
-
The beach here is fairly small and is made up of soft white sand and shingle, with the odd larger rock dotted along the beach. To get here you need to head westbound out of Athens following the signs for Vouliagmeni. Just before this you will see the signs for Palaio Faliro and the beach. Here you can park.

Wind&Waves
-
The main wind directions are south southwest and north northeast and both directions work well here. During the summer the thermal winds kick in at around noon pretty much every day. In the winter the winds are less frequent and are much more gustier. The water quality is crystal clear and conditions are flat to choppy pretty much all of the time. The water temperature remains somewhere between 14-26 degrees depending upon the season, so you may want to suit up or down accordingly.

Facilities
-
Facilities here are pretty good. As well as ample parking you have, eating establishments close by and shower and toilet facilities also. For shops, restaurants and accommodation, take the short drive to the larger town of Vouliagmeni, which has everything that you will need. For some excellent nightlife, head back to the capital Athens.

Safety
-
Keep a close eye out for swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months, and watch out for the rocks that lie close to the beach.
