General Information
Level:10-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Pease bay is a natural cove on the south east of Scotland. Although backed by dunes, it is fairly open and exposed meaning that wind is constant. This is good news for wind and kite surfers. Also, because of the wide expanse of beach, it is fairly easy to pick your spot, especially out of season.

Beach
-
A mixture of sandy beach to the left and reef to the right, it is suited to all standards, although beginners would be wise to stay away from the right side. To get here, you simply follow the A1 up to Pease and park outside the caravan site. It is a 5 minute walk with all your equipment from there.

Wind&Waves
-
The wind and swell both work best when coming from a southwesterly direction and look deceptively bigger than when being viewed from the beach. The swell starts working at less than a meter and holds up to over 2.5 meters. The best times to surf are at low to mid tide and it makes little or no difference whether the tide is rising or falling. The waves are fairly ordinary, with a ride length of around 50 meters which is reasonably short. However they are consistent. The waves break both right and left and the left breakers finish on the sand bar, whilst the right breakers fall over rocks, so this is something to be aware of. The sea temperature averages at around 4 degrees Celsius and can drop to -12 so you definitely need to be suited up.
