General Information

Level:0-10 Season:December 1 — August 31

This beach actually belongs to one of the resorts, but they don't mind people coming here. Kitesurfers and windsurfers of all abilities are welcome.

Beach

The beach consists of the soft white sand you come to expect in the Caribbean, and it's clean and mostly free of obstacles.  Although it's a quiet location, you will still find a few other people on the beach, especially sunbathers. The climate here is fairly warm, and shorts and some sun cream are all you need all year round.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The season here is mainly from December to August, when you get a combination of thermal and trade winds, which tend to come in from roughly the north-east and giving between 10 and 20 knots.  The best winds are found in the early morning and late evening. The water is shallow and clear, and the best tide is at high tide. The surface is flat and shallow inside the reef, and has some decent waves up to about 3 m high what you get outside.

Facilities

This place really does have everything you need, and puts plenty of spots in other countries to shame. Lifeguards are on the beach, and there is a school which is happy to give lessons. There is a shop where you can rent or buy gear, and even get it repaired if you need it. There are toilets and showers available at the club for a small fee, food can be bought and there is accommodation too for anybody who wants to hang around.  You can park up at the club, or use public transport to get here.

Safety

Wear boots if you are going anywhere near the reef, and keep your eyes open for swimmers.  There are also palm trees on the beach, but they shouldn't be a problem if you keep to the main area.
