General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
Playa Las Sallinas is situated right on the southern most tip of Ibiza within touching distance of the neighbouring island of Formentera. It is a very popular spot for sailors and catamarans as well as wind and kite surfers of all levels and abilities. In the summer it gets very packed with tourists and bathers alike and because of this, there are time restrictions during the months of April through to September. The best time to use this beach is from October through to April when the crowds have all but disappeared. There is plenty of parking very close by.

Beach
-
Playa Las Sallinas is a medium sized soft sandy beach with rocks situated towards the east end. It is large enough to be able to pick your spot out of season and if you can go during the week then even better!
-
Wind&Waves
-
The best wind direction at this spot is from a southerly direction or variations thereof. The wind here tends to be predominantly from the south west for most of the year so this is good news for surfers. The wind speed averages at around 8 knots and is fairly constant most of the year although it experiences lighter winds during the summer. The water quality is crystal clear and is flat to choppy. It is fairly shallow for the first 50 meters or so and small waves can occur with stronger onshore breezes. The water temperature remains a very pleasant 28 degrees in the summer months and drops to around 14-16 degrees during the winter, so you may need to suit up accordingly.
-
Facilities
-
Because this is a popular up market spot, there is a lot here. There are plenty of eating establishments from fine dining down to simple beach bars. Shops and toilet facilities are also to be found here. If you want to let your hair down, then there is plenty of night life around to choose from.

Safety
-
Try to avoid the rocks at the east end of the beach and watch out for yachts and dingies in the harbor. Be aware of bathers during the height of the summer and adhere to time restrictions.
