General Information
Level:0-10 Season:May 1 — September 30 -
Historically a part of the Quinault tribal area, this is a good place to head out for a day – it is a relaxed, family-oriented beach with a few different surf spots and plenty of space to sit back and relax between rides.
-
Beach
-
The beach is sandy and clear here, completely unspoilt and just as it has been for, well, forever really. The north western end, where the point is, as a pretty thin beach but you’ve got plenty of surf spots to choose from and it gets wider towards the middle. It’s generally pretty quiet anyway, so you shouldn’t find it difficult to get yourself a bit of space.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The wind is considered good here when it comes from the northwest or west, and for the swell to be good it has to push against the wind and come from the west or southwest. The waves don’t get very big here even on the best days, starting at less than 1m and only reaching just over 2m, but they are still fun and it’s a nice place to be. The waves have no power really, nor a good shape, but they’re consistent and easy to ride. Typical length will be less than 50m, but a good day might see that extended to as much as 150m if you are lucky.
-
Facilities
-
Parking is available pretty close to the beach, just off Route 109, but as this is a reservation area and not exactly on the tourist trail it’s undeveloped and you won’t find shops or even showers here.
-
Safety
-
There aren’t any dangers here, it’s a good spot to surf, but for beach access and local rules you should check with the tribal office.
