General Information
Level:8-10 Season:December 1 — February 29 -
Believe it or not, Rocky Point is one of the world’s most photographed beaches, with a one time high of 60 cameramen standing on the shoreline as they captured the daring feats of surfers from all over the globe. Why? Because Rocky Point provides the most consistent waves all year round than any other spot in the north shore. Rocky Point also serves as the point of convergence between the Ehukai crowd and Sunset Beach cronies, thus making the place a very popular and congested spot all year round.

Beach
-
Although the winter (December to February) is the best season, Rocky Point can be extremely crowded on holidays and weekends, so much so that a collision becomes inevitable. Rocky Point is a 250 yard span over a shallow reef.

Wind&Waves
-
The great thing about this spot is that it provides several different take off points that have different surfing conditions. On a north swell, take the left, which is big and open. Right off to the middle of the reef, there is a left peak that emerges in west swell, which peels in the northern channel. On the north end of the reef is an acute left. And, on the inside, there is yet another left that creates a great place for airs and little barrels.

Facilities
-
Parking is permitted along the Kam highway, and there are two different access points into the Rocky Point area. There isn’t too much in the way of hotel accommodations – it’s usually a good idea to round up a bunch of people to rent a vacation home in the area. When not on the water, you can have a great time checking out the different shops, museums, snorkeling spots, and market places.
-
Safety
-
Since the surf is so consistent, it might be best to venture out during lunchtime or the weekdays.
