General Information

Level:7-10 Season:May 1 — September 30

This is a fantastic spot for those with the means to get here and the experience to handle it. Only very serious surfers should attempt it.

Beach

There is no beach at this spot, only water for miles around. It is located about two miles off the shore of Rehoboth Beach, so obviously you’ll need a boat to get here, and the spot is marked by tethered orange barrels.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

A good wind direction here is considered to be from the south east or east. The swell has to be from the same direction as the wind for it to work, and when it does you’ll find that the swell starts at a very good 3m or so and holds up to an awesome 5m and over. This breaks on a sand bar, only to the right, and the waves are hollow, very fast and very powerful. Even on a normal day the wave length will be up 500m, and a good day can see it get well over that. There is never anybody out here during the week, but you might see a few other surfers out at weekend.

Facilities

This is two miles from shore, and there is nothing here but water. If you want facilities other than those on the boat, the nearest place is Rehoboth Beach which is a tourist destination and has all the accommodation, restaurants and shops you could need.

Safety

If you’re surfing at this level you already know how to be safe and read the signs. Mind the rocks, the undertows and the buoys, and keep an eye out for sharks.
