General Information
Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31 -
This is a pretty regular break which will suit surfers of all experience levels. Getting to it takes a bit more effort than most other spots around here, but it will pay off if you like somewhere with fairly easy waves in an almost deserted location.
-
Beach
-
This is actually a private beach, but nobody seems to mind surfers – keep it that way. The beach is sandy and is narrow but long, and due to the awkward nature of the access you won't see many other people out here.
-
Wind&Waves
-
The conditions here are best when the wind is coming from the east or north-east and the swell is coming from the north, north-west or west. The swell will start working at 1 m to 1.5 m and reach about 3 m, at its peak at the mid tide position and when the tide is rising. It is a reef break, both right and left, and is about average in terms of speed and power so it shouldn't present too much difficulty for anybody. The ride length is about average, and will be between 100 and 150 m on most days.
-
Facilities
-
The easiest place to park is at the Bacara hotel, after which you will have a walk of up to 30 minutes along the beach. There are no facilities here, but you aren't far out of the city and it has a good choice of places to stay, restaurants, and entertainment.
-
Safety
-
The water is perfectly safe, and your only hazard is if you attempt to walk here at high tide when you will have to follow the railway line.
