General Information

Level:8-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

Sierksdorf sits on the edge of the Baltic coast about 40 minute's drive from Neustadt. It is best used by kite surfers and wind surfers of intermediate and expert abilities because of the wave breakers and groynes that are scattered around. There is no particular season, although it is recommended that you stay vigilant in the summer as the beach can get packed with tourists looking for a bit of sun.

Beach

Sierksdorf offers a small sandy beach that is long and thin so there is not a lot of space to unpack your kit. However further up the beach where the cliff starts, there is more space available. To find it you need to take the A1 towards Puttgarden and then take the exit for Haffkrug and Sierksdorf. When you get to Sierksdorf, drive to the beach, turn left and follow the road that runs parallel with the beach. You can park here.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The wind here is very dependent upon depressions. They are mainly westerly, but can be offshore and very gusty at times. East winds can be nice in the summer and are driven by thermals, so surfers can pick up some good speed. The water is clean and can produce small waves of up to 1 meter, although in general, the conditions are flat to choppy with shallow waves.

Facilities

There is a camping site close by that offers shops, toilet facilities, food and accommodation
