General Information
Level:10-10 Season:April 1 — November 1 -
Spiekeroog is one of the East Frisian Islands off the North Sea Coast of Germany and is a top spot for kitesurfers, whether you are a beginner or a pro.
-
Beach
-
There are fine sandy beaches with lots of space to assemble and launch your kite and because the island is so small there is very a lot of walking to do from one area to another. To access the island you have to leave your car behind and catch a ferry from Neuharlingersiel. The island itself is a car free zone.

Wind&Waves
-
The wind blows mainly from the west which means side to side on shore conditions although it is possible to experience wind from all directions at this spot. The best winds are considered to be from fall to spring with the summer winds being lighter. If you strike lucky you may experience some nice north east and east winds in the summer but they don't happen too often. The quality of the water is not good and there can be some strong currents to watch out for. The water temperature is about 22o C maximum although generally around 15 oC during the season. Air temperature is at most 15o C during fall and spring, rising to as high as 30o C in the summer. The beach is large and spacious, but come the summer months it does get very busy.
