Wind&Waves

Wave spot Regular wind

The main wind direction here is northerly and the best wind direction is westerly. During the summer months the westerly breeze brings the trade winds with it. These kick in around noon and can increase in the mid afternoon to around 5-6 bft. During the winter the winds are much less frequent but when they do happen they can be very gusty. The water quality is clean with small to medium sized waves of up to 3 metres in height occurring when the wind is in the right direction and is strong enough. The water temperature falls somewhere between 15-25 degrees depending upon the time of the year, so you may want to suit up accordingly.

Parking

There isn't much here apart from parking...head back into Essasouira if you are looking for shops, bars, restaurants and some nightlife.

Safety

This is a fairly safe spot, just keep a look out for the rocky mole and swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months.
