General Information

Level:0-10 Season:January 1 — December 31

This is a pretty consistent break that is suitable for surfers of all abilities.  As it isn't really close to anywhere, most people make this a day trip.

Beach

The beach is all sand and is a decent size, easily able to cope with a few surfers that it sees regularly. Temperatures here in summer will be approaching the mid-twenties, while in winter they will dip to around 15 to 17° C.

Wind&Waves

Flat water spot

The waves here start at just less than 1 m and will hold up to just over 2 m, working at both low or mid tide position and on rising or falling tides. It is best when the wind is blowing from the north-west or the west and the swell is coming in from the east or the north-east. It is a beach break, both right and left, and the waves come in fairly fast but don't have a lot of power in them.  Length is fairly decent, reaching over hundred metres on most days and if you happen to be here on a good day you can expect well over 200 m.

Facilities

You can park pretty close to the beach, right at the end of Te Ra road.  That's all the facilities you are going to get here, and there are no decent size towns nearby so make sure you bring everything you need with you.

Safety

There are some strong currents round here that you need to be aware of, and the locals tend to see this is the beach and may not make life easy if they take exception to you.
