Situated on the south west coast of Morocco lies the spot at Tamri. This is a popular spot for surfers and kite surfers of intermediate and expert abilities. It is not advisable for beginners to practice here because of the large rocks situated just off the shoreline. The best months are from May through to September when the heavy trade winds kick in.

Beach

Sand Gradual descent

The beach at Tamri is a medium to large sized beach with hard sand. It contains no hazards or obstacles to speak of. To get here you need to head northbound out of the city of Agadir for around 50 kms. When you see the signs for Tamri you will notice a small dirt track that leads down to the beach. Take this track and follow it down.

Wind&Waves

Wave spot Regular wind

The main wind direction is westerly or variations thereof. These are also the directions that work best here. During the summer the trade winds kick in at around noon and by mid afternoon 6-7 bft is not uncommon. During the winter, the winds are much less frequent but they can be much more gusty when they do occur. The water quality is clean and conditions are small to medium waves pretty much all of the time. The water temperature remains somewhere between 15-26 degrees depending upon the time of the year so you may want to suit up or down accordingly.

Facilities

Parking

There is parking at the beach but there is not much else. If you are looking for shops, bars, restaurants and accommodation, then head into Tamri town. If you are looking to party the night away, then Agadir City has its fair share of bars and nightclubs.

Safety

Just be aware of the large rocks situated just off the beach. Also be aware of swimmers and bathers in and around the water during the busy summer months.
